The Opportunity

The position is on Marketo’s Award-Winning Marketing Demand Generation team, reporting into the Sr. Manager, Demand Generation. The role will be focused on driving awareness and demand for Marketo Engagement Platform among SMB companies (101-750 employees) by leveraging multiple channels and program tactics, including but not limited to: paid programs (content syndication, virtual events, sponsored email, etc.), database and nurture email, webinars, field events, real time web personalization and more. The right candidate for this position will have a learning mindset, be motivated and driven to learn new software tools (Marketo and Salesforce in the first 30 days to pass a test, write well (promotional copy for email, landing pages, digital ads), be data-driven, have obsessive attention to detail, initiative, and desire to excel and over-achieve at every step of the way.   • Draft, write, edit, proof-read, and launch targeted email marketing campaigns
  • Own database management tasks designed to increase program and tactic effectiveness
  • Develop story arcs and determine a sequence of assets and messages for complex nurture tracks; build nurture streams and drip campaigns for each audience
  • Define and execute personalized experiences for known and anonymous website visitors, develop, test and optimize messages, content and flows for various audiences
  • Build webinar programs, promote them, and moderate virtual tradeshow/webinar sessions with other speakers; webinar speaking experience a plus
  • Coordinate logistics for Marketo’s multiple and simultaneous trade show sponsorships, field, and virtual events
  • Analyze the weekly and monthly program performance and make recommendations for improvements and optimization of content, mix, frequency, etc. in order to meet monthly and quarterly goals
  • Collaborate with Content team on the development of new assets, including cheat sheets, ebooks, white papers, definitive guides, video and more to ensure that you have the latest most compelling content for the target audience
  • Partner with Product Marketing to refine messaging and content for targeted campaigns
  • Collaborate with Marketing Operations team to improve data quality, reporting, and segmentation
  • Create custom reports for Sales teams and update them on programs and initiatives
  • Participate in the brainstorming and implementation of new programs, tactics, and processes that will accelerate the achievement of Marketo’s strategic and revenue goals
  • Perform general administrative support for marketing team, including scheduling, material production and shipping 

Required Skills/ Experience

  • Ability to flourish in an extremely fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Must be a quick learner, hands-on experience using Marketo or another Marketing Automation software or email marketing solution
  • Hands-on experience with CRM experience, including creating custom reports, special views for Sales and
  • 2+ years of experience working in marketing communications with a focus on demand generation/lead generation or field marketing
  • Self-starter, can work independently and proactively to resolve issues, take ownership of projects and process
  • Extreme attention to detail, time management, organization skills
  • Technically savvy – ability and drive to learn new software skills (Marketo and Salesforce)
  • Comfort and desire working with Sales to communicate marketing updates, drive projects to desired results and trouble-shoot issues, proactively coming up with solutions and recommendations
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data, identify trends, analyze program effectiveness and ROI
  • Experience with media planning and execution of paid programs including sponsored email, content syndication, remarketing, virtual events, webinars, etc. – vendor management, contract and price negotiations experience a plus
  • Experience with Account-Based Marketing tactics including demand generation within key strategic accounts using digital programs tactics or field events
  • Excellent stakeholder management, planning, project management and prioritization skills
  • Must possess a passion for learning industry-leading marketing technologies, tactics and best practices
  • College graduate with B.A./B.S. degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or Management preferred
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other new digital technologies and tools
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must have positive and flexible attitude for working in a fast-paced team, and across various functions
