Director of Corporate Events

The Opportunity:

Innovative Events Leader who can transform a customer conference into World-class industry event.  Own strategy and orchestrate the Marketing Nation Summit (the leading marketing industry conference) and other corporate and executive events for Marketo. Reporting to the VP Corporate Marketing.

Responsibilities:

-Program & Agenda Planning: Working closely with the team, develop event plans for each event including staffing, agenda, premiums, and marketing activities required to promote the event.
-Creative Execution: Develop creative program concepts and precision management of the respective events to ensure overall event content is one-of-a-kind and unmatched.
-Sponsor Programming & Speaker Management: Identify, recruit and manage speakers for key events. This requires involvement in helping to select topics, reviewing content, helping organize speaker information and panelists on delivery, and supervising set-up and execution. 
-Presentation & Wrap-Up: Lead the creation of presentation materials to track the progress of the events and create wrap reports for partners and sponsors.
-Logistics and Onsite Execution: Responsible for seamless execution and production of the events run of show, including staging, lighting, timing, audio + video presentation.

Required Skills/ Experience:

-The person we seek must be organized, possess exceptional communicative skills, and have the right mix of creativity balanced with sensibility towards budget restrictions. You should be flexible with change and comfortable in a fast paced environment. 
-A minimum of 8 years in marketing, with 5+ years’ experience in event management and coordination in the B2B software industry managing 6-7 figure budgets.
-A passion for events and ability to develop creative angle to maximize value from events.
-Demonstrated event planning skills, specifically in strategic deal-making, with excellent communications and networking ability.
-A+ negotiation skills.
-Ability to address problems and issues constructively to find mutually acceptable and practical solutions with a consciousness toward internal and external customers.
-Advanced knowledge of all Mac applications, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
-Bachelor’s Degree (B.A) or equivalent, preferably in Business, Communications, Marketing.
