The Opportunity
 

The Payroll team is responsible for the accurate and timely payment of employee’s payroll. This role requires strong technical and communication skills and the ability to simultaneously manage tasks to meet established standards and deadlines. Successful candidates will be highly organized; detail- oriented and has a strong aptitude towards critical thinking and problem-solving including a strong understanding of the complexities of payroll tax laws, payroll accounting and full cycle payroll. This position is located in San Mateo, CA and will be reporting to the Sr. Payroll Manager.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Process full cycle semi-monthly multi- state payroll for 800+ employees including any required stock payrolls.
  • Verify weekly timesheets for accuracy; communicate with department managers for clarification as needed.
  • Maintain all electronic and hard copy documents in accordance with federal, state, and company guidelines.
  • Process all new hires, terminations, wages changes, and deductions.
  • Research and promptly resolve employee requests and inquires.
  • Active participation with payroll policy development and documentation.
  • Manage annual 401(k) reporting and audit, annual worker's compensation and general liability audits.
  • Prepare journal entries for month end close activities.
  • Files paperwork with the proper agencies when new states are added to ADP.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Provide backup and support to Sr. Payroll Manager.
  • Exercise a high degree of confidentiality relative to all payroll information.

 

Required Skills / Experience: 

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of full-cycle payroll processing experience.
  • Solid understanding of ADP WFN and ADP Custom Reporting.
  • Experience with Workday HRIS is a plus.
  • Experience with Intacct and AFRM software is a plus.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local payroll tax regulations.
  • Strong communication, Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi task in a fast paced ever changing environment.
  • Advanced knowledge in Excel.
  • High personal standard of integrity, able to handle highly sensitive matters.
